City of Derry Airport

City of Derry Airport

City of Derry Airport

The airport was completed in 1994 and was specifically designed to meet the needs of all travellers including those with special needs.

Arriving at City of Derry Airport by Road - (Disabled Parking)

On arrival at the airport by road, there are a number of disabled parking spaces reserved adjacent to the main terminal entrance in Car Park "A". All access points to pavements around the car park and terminal building are ramped.
The doors are automated and wheelchairs are available at the Airport Information Point. Arrival and Departure Areas are located on the ground floor and all of the doorways are designed to accommodate wheelchair access.
Once you have entered the terminal you have access to all of the facilities, such as, shops, bar, restaurant, bureau de change and pay phones. There are fully accessible toilet facilities in the main concourse and in the Departure Area.
The terminal is also equipped with an induction loop system to enable people with hearing aids to hear any announcements clearly. Access to the 'apron' area is level and the airport staff will give you every assistance, (when requested), to help you get both to and into the plane in accordance with the specific airline handling policy.

Arriving at City of Derry Airport by Air

On arrival at the airport, by air, again you will be given every assistance, (when requested), to help you get off the plane and into the Arrivals Area to collect your baggage. From here you have full access to all the relevant parts of the terminal and car park. Taxis and buses are available, at the terminal, at all main flight times. If one is not available you may phone one of the several private hire taxi firms who service the airport.
Please note that to get the best service it is essential that either you contact the airport or airline direct or via your travel agent and tell them that you have 'special needs'. This should make for a trouble free journey
